Everything You Should Know

Introduction- About ICAI & Placement

• The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is a professional body that conducts campus placements for its students who have cleared their Chartered Accountancy Final exams.
• The ICAI conducts campus placements in various cities across the country, typically for its students who have completed the CA course and are looking for employment opportunities.
• These placements are usually conducted in the months of September and January and are open to all students who have completed their CA course from the ICAI.
• ICAI has recently declared the date for the Campus Placement Drive for May 2023 students.

The Objective of Campus Placement

• During the campus placements, various companies visit the ICAI campus and conduct interviews for eligible candidates so that they can get the best talents and recruit accordingly who is ideal for them.
• The companies that participate in the ICAI campus placements include top accounting firms, consulting firms, and other companies from various industries.
• The ICAI provides this platform for their new members to get recruited in different sectors across the country.

Process of Participation

• Candidates who have passed their CA Final examination can register for the August-September 2023 Campus Placement Drive.
• Candidates who passed out prior to May 2023 examinations but could not apply to the regular campus due to certain reasons, specified below, are now eligible for August-September 2023 campus and their online registration begins on 11th July 2023.
• Candidates who have completed AICITSS / Advance MCS /Articleship but are yet to attain 21 years of age to secure ICAI membership are required to seek special permission from CMI&B, for participating in the Campus placement program.

Campus Placement Process & Registration Fees

• The whole process of ICAI Campus Placement is regulated online, and professional aspirants have to register on the ICAI placement portal, CMI&B.
• The registration for May 2023 pass-out candidates begins on 14th July 2023 and will end on 27th July 2023.
• The final date for registration for all categories is 27th July 2023, and no extensions will be granted. For those who only select a small center, registration will remain open until 10 September 2023.
• The registration fee for Campus Placement Drive is ₹500.
• After registration is completed, the participating companies will shortlist the candidate according to their academic records, experience, and mostly rank-holders.
• Once the candidate has signed the declaration form and has not joined the company, the candidate has to pay a Commitment Charge of ₹5,000 to ICAI.

Centers for Interviews

• ICAI conducts interviews in two parts, one is a big center and the second one is a small center.
• Big centers include Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi & Pune.
• Small centers include Bhubaneswar, Bhopal, Chandīgarh, Coimbatore, Durgapur, Ernakulam, Indore, Kanpur, Lucknow, Nagpur, Noida, Patna, Rajkot, Ranchi, Raipur, Thane, Vadodara & Visakhapatnam.
• The registration for big and small centers is done separately.

Interview Related Details and Schedule

• The timing for the Interviews on all days shall be from 9:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M as far as possible.
• Only shortlisted candidates, who mark consent in the Portal within the specified dates, would be allowed to appear for campus interviews.
• Interviews will be conducted in virtual mode on the platform convenient to the participating organization as per the roster prepared by ICAI.
• The link for attending the virtual interview will be shared by the concerned organization with all consented candidates on their registered e-mail ID.
• Candidates are advised to be online, preferably on their laptop or desktop with audio & visual facility, roughly 30 minutes prior to their interview slot.
• It is mandatory to attend the interview after giving consent to the organization before a candidate is finally selected by any organization.

Campus Placement Rules

• Candidates have to obtain a membership number after passing CA Final examination or provide the date for obtaining a membership number.
• Candidate has to complete MCS and advanced IIT certification courses and quote their respective number in the registration form.
• A maximum of four companies can be selected by the candidate for the interview and required to give consent to the companies.
• ICAI has laid down the dress code to be followed by the candidates appearing for the interviews.
• The shortlisting status of various companies, as well as information regarding Written/ Psychometric/ Interview tests etc., will go to the respective candidate’s login.
• In the event of not being selected for the bigger center but wishing to change to the smaller center, you can do so through the portal.
• If you are not in genuine need of a job, avoid registering for the Campus Placement Program.
